Classic Romal Reins - in Rawhide and Latigo
One of the classic pieces of equipment for the reined cow horse are the exquisitely braided romal reins. Our reins all have the California style of buttons on them, which consist of a combination of large barrel shaped buttons with finer ones in between them. And as attractive as the buttons are, they are there for a purpose, and that is to give some weight and "feel" to the reins, allowing your horse to perceive even tiny movements from your hand, before you ever have to make contact with the bit. Adding a set of chains enhances the feel even more.

Rawhide Reins
The rawhide reins that we've created for you come in three different grades depending on the number of plaits that are used in the rein - the more plaits, the softer and more supple the rein can become. The braiders that we are working with have done an outstanding job creating these reins: the 12 plait is a good quality rein, the 16 is better, naturally, and the first set of 18 plait reins that arrived, I kept for myself - they're that nice. Which ever you choose, you'll be getting an exceptional piece of equipment that should last for years and years.

12 Plait Latigo Reins
Some folks prefer a little softer rein in their hand and that's where the latigo rein comes in. It's a little different look, and over time it will become more pliable than the rawhide reins will. These reins have a really nice weight and feel to them. I think you'd enjoy riding in them.
