Product Description

A cavesson is never a bad idea to have as part of your training program, as it discourages your horse from opening his mouth in response to the bit. Some riders use an English style leather cavesson, but the way I see it a horse can push against a cavesson like that and when you take it off you're in trouble!
This little rawhide cavesson, is going to push into a horse that puts pressure on him in a way that will discourage him from bumping into it, hence teaching him to keep his mouth closed. The cavesson will be round when you get it, but if you get it wet and then tie it to the shape that you want, it will work perfect for you. Just like your bosal, you might need to reshape it once in a while.
