I often use draw reins like these along with my regular bridle when I'm introducing a horse to lead changes. It gives me a little extra control and authority if they start to get a little bold with me. Something I do too is put knots in them to let me know where to stop taking up rein. Just helps me guage a little better how much collection I want from the horse.
