Stiff Rope Cavessons-These cavessons are a great training aid. My theory is that a leather cavesson just gives a horse something to push against when he wants to open his mouth, without correcting the behavior, so when you take them off you can be in trouble. These stiff rope ones aren’t going to be comfortable to lean against, so they’re going to discourage your horse from opening his mouth and that’s the goal.
