After several years of trying, I’ve finally come up with a saddle design, and saddle maker whos saddle I’m thrilled to put my name on. The saddle maker is Jim Taylor, and I can tell you he doesn’t know how to put out a bad product. His saddles are all made here in the U.S. and you can really see, and feel, the craftsmanship that goes into each one.
The design, takes some of the best features from some of my favorite saddles and puts them all together into one package. When I first swung my leg over the prototype I was hooked and I like the saddle more every time I ride in it. It lets me have a lot of contact with the horse, and a lot of security when ever I get into a rough patch or full throttle work on the fence or in the herd. In the video I point out some of the specific features that make the saddle so good so you’ll want to watch that for more detail.
One of the things that attracted me to Jim Taylor is that he has the ability to turn out some terrific saddles at an affordable price point, but he can also do ANYTHING you WANT for a custom saddle too. Through his Heritage line, you can start with out specially designed Les Vogt tree and then build a top-quality working saddle (with lots of options for personalization) all for around $3600, and with a 6-8 week lead time. We had him make us a couple of stock saddles which are featured below, just so you can see some of the options for your self. Plus, we’ll be adding more info in the next few weeks that will allow show you examples of all the options that are available.
In the meantime, the stock saddles are available for purchase now (from Jim’s shop in Texas) and if you have any questions about them feel free to give us a call at 877-LES-VOGT.
