Luke’s been on a horse since as long as he could walk and went to college on rodeo scholarships where he excelled in calf roping, heading and heeling. When he started training on his own he decided he wanted to branch into the working cow horse events as well. Luke met Les Vogt at the Snaffle Bit Futurity in 2008, and from the questions he was asking Les recommended that he pick up copies of the Cowhorse U programs, and use the material to really strengthen his horse’s fundamentals. Luke took the material from the programs and started integrating it into his training right away, referring back to them often whenever he ran into problems or felt like he was stalling out a little.

In fact, Luke became such a fan that he lined Les up for a clinic to help troubleshoot some of his horses and fine tune his cow work, and lately Les has been going to Luke’s ranch in Allerton, Iowa, a couple times a year. At the 2010 Snaffle Bit, Luke was featured in one of Les’ Equine Insight TV shows on RFD-TV as they were preparing their horses for the fence runs.
